The taste of our whisky leaves a lasting impression, so it’s only right we invite you to create a cocktail with our Deanston Virgin Oak…. We love quirky originality and that will bring out the profile of this waxy whisky.

While many rules may be rubbish, we have just a wee few:

  1. Entries must be in the form of a long or short drink, not a shot, and be a minimum of 120ml (4oz)
  2. Recipes entered must be an original creation of the change maker (submitter) not a copy or imitation
  3. Any homemade ingredients must submit a full recipe with the entry (can be modified for public release if desired)
  4. This cocktail should highlight the attributes of the Deanston Virgin Oak
  5. Recipes must not exceed 5 ingredients, including drops, dashes, and foams. Garnishes, such as citrus zests, sprays, rinses, etc., do not count as an ingredient

The cocktail recipe, along with the changemaker nomination submission together will form the entire entry, which will be judged by a virtual panel.

Recipes will be scored based on the following criteria and weighting:

  1. Balance, flavor, aroma, and character (50% of score)
  2. Innovation and creativity of recipe (30% of score)
  3. Story or inspiration behind your recipe and cocktail name (20% of score)

Winners of the official campaign contest will be selected by an official Contest judging panel from all eligible submissions uploaded to the campaign web page https://deanstondifferenttartan.ca/enter during the CONTEST PERIOD.

Odds of winning the prize will depend on the number of entrants.

The five (5) finalists will be notified via email by September 6, 2024.
